Handy Backup and Handy Backup Server have been updated. The latest versions of the software Handy Backup 6.1 provide new features that make working with the utility easier and more efficient.

The delegation of IT companies from the Netherlands visited Novosoft.

The main aim of the meeting was to work out the cooperative business strategy of software and services promotion in the European and Russian markets and to establish mutually beneficial collaboration in the software development process. An agreement concerning the distribution of Novosoft products in Western Europe was reached. The products will be distributed through the European trading networks with which the Netherlands partners have successful long-term relationships. The other result of the meeting was the agreement of Novosoft to develop and distribute the system of building network business solutions which belongs to one of the Holland companies. The intention to invest in the development of new perspective products and in the evolution of the existing products was expressed by the Holland side.

On March, 26 2003 Novosoft Product Department has announced a release of Outlook Spam Filter. Novosoft recently finished a software development project for a large energy company JSC "Tyumen Energo" (Russia).

JSC "Tyumen Energo" needed to have a flexible and transparent corporate information system in place.

It took only 3 months for Novosoft specialists to implement the project - from preliminary situation analysis to final application deployment.

The solution is comprised of 2 parts: corporate Web site and electronic workflow system for corporate orders. Both applications are developed using Lotus Workflow and are Lotus Domino based.

The Web site solution ensures easy-to-configure process of creating and confirming requests for publishing news and articles on the "Tyumen Energo" corporate site. Importantly, it makes a process of the site content management easy and not requiring programming skills.

The major advantage of the electronic workflow system is that it automates collecting, processing and presenting of all company production and financial data.

Implementation of Lotus Domino based solutions is one of the core competencies for Novosoft. Working for JSC "Tyumen Energo" has become another valuable contribution into Novosoft expertise in that area.

"Novosoft" participated in the traditional International mathematical conference "The Maltsev Readings" held in Novosibirsk on November 18-22

The company members who are conducting research in the algebra-logical methods in IT delivered reports at the traditional mathematical conference "The Maltsev Readings". The conference has been organized by the Institute of Discrete Mathematics and Information Science, the Institute of Mathematics and Novosibirsk State University.

"Novosoft" provides complete support for scientific projects. The company members are given the possibility to realize their innovation ideas, participate in experimental researches and bring their ideas to a practical result. Among other reports on algebra-logical methods in IT, there was a report ("Lukasevich logic as mathematical architectural model") presented by Sergey Kovalev, the Development Director of "Novosoft".

Among the participants of the conference were students of the IT faculty of Novosibirsk State University, who are serving their internship in "Novosoft". Their participation in the conference demonstrated the high level of their professional training.

An inauguration of the Center of Software Products Development "Novosoft-Zheleznogorsk" has been held in Zheleznogorsk

Opening the office of the company has become a very significant milestone that marks a completion of the entire preparatory activity. The office has been re-equipped, hardware and software has been purchased and installed. At the same time, the thorough process of personnel recruiting and its integral re-training was taking place as well.

The opening of the Center was attended by the following public persons: the mayor of Zheleznogorsk Andrey Katargin, representatives of local industrial enterprises, the director of the Fund of Russian-American Economical Cooperation (FRAEC) Carol Vippermann, the representative of US Department of Energy George Pomeroy, the representative of Batelle Pacific Northwest National Laboratory Ron Nesse, co-founders of the Center - "Novosoft" and the fund "International Development Center - Zheleznogorsk".

Now, the new company is working on its first projects - pre-contract negotiations are being conducted with several clients. Projects will be performed by the "Novosoft-Zheleznogorsk" team with the support from "Novosoft".

In 2001, "Novosoft" won the tender announced by the International center for development of Zheleznogorsk (ICD) and the governing body of the program "Nuclear Cities Initiatives" (NCI). This program has been elaborated by the US Department of Energy together with the fund of Russian-American Economical Cooperation. In the framework of the project "Novosoft-Zheleznogorsk", the commercial company has been established. The company performs software development for Russian and international customers. The US Department of Energy and PNNL Laboratory provide the financial support on initial stages of the project's development. The role that "Novosoft" plays in the project is sharing its know-how on how this type of business can be organized and the possibility to use its trademark. The project is supported by the municipal administration.

"Novosoft" has participated in the First Regional Forum "Siberian Industry of Information Systems"

On October 21-24, the IT-forum "Siberian Industry of Information Systems" was held in Novosibirsk. The forum was organized by the plenipotentiary of the president of Russian Federation in the Siberain federal district, Administration of Novosibirsk Region, the fund "Center of strategic developments - Siberia", Siberian branch of Russian Academy of Science, non-commercial partnership for support of information technologies development "SibAkademSoft".

The main tasks were to form primary directions for development of Siberian information systems industry, to present technologies and solutions of IT-companies for potentail clients.
Representatives of regional administrations, leading IT-companies, industrial enterprises, academic institutes and educational institutions, the representatives of State Duma of Russia, of federal ministries and departments took part in the events of the forum. A profound interest to the forum was demonstrated by representatives of large industrial enterprises, financial structures - potentail customers and investors that have learned about proposals of software companies and established business and personal contacts. Together with the public authority representatives, organizational, methodological and investment mechanisms for further development of IT-industry in Siberian regions have been worked out.

Various companies sponsored the Forum, among them are Sun Microsystems, Oracle, American Power Conversion, Mining Company "Norilsk Nikel".

"Novosoft" has signed the contract with a large Russian company "Tyumenenergo".

An affiliated company of RAO "UES of Russia" (Russian Joint Stock Company - Unified Energy System of Russia) - "Tyumenenergo" has become a new customer of "Novosoft". The signed contract provides the development and implementation of a corporate system of electronic documents flow for service charges and of the informational system on the basis of WEB-server.

"Tyumenenergo" is one of the largest Russian energy companies. The central office is located in the oil-and-gas capital of Russia - Surgut. "Tyumenenergo" consists of 33 separate sub-devisions with the personnel of 28,000 employees that perform all functions related to the power production, transfer and realization.

An affiliated company of "Novosoft" is going to be opened in November

In 2001, "Novosoft" won the tender announced by the governing body of the program "Nuclear Cities Initiatives" (NCI) and the International center for development of Zheleznogorsk (ICD). In the framework of the project "Novosoft-Zheleznogorsk", the commercial company has been established. The company performs software development for Russian and International customers. The project is effected in the framework of the program "Nuclear Cities Initiatives" (NCI), developed by the Fund of Russian-American Economical Cooperation (FRAEC) and Batelle Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) with assistance of the U.S. Department of Energy.

At present, an integral training of specialists team has been finished. The goal of the training was to prepare highly qualified personnel that can perform projects on software development.

By the end of the training course, the renovation work in the office of the company "Novosoft-Zheleznogorsk" has been completed as well, and the specialists will start work in November.

Novosoft sponsored 5-th Russian Kendo Championship

Kendo Championship took place on October 4 and 5 in Novosibirsk. Besides financial assistance Novosoft`s sportsmen participated in the competitions and took prize-winning places.

The total of 64 sportsmen from 16 cities of Russia took part in this championship. Among them 5 Novosoft employees defended the honor of the company. Andrey Kusurgashev has taken the third place in individual championship.

On the award ceremony Igor Salmin the official representative of Novosoft congratulated prize-winners and presented Vladivistok's Sergey Stepanskoy from special prize "For a great morale and will to victory"

It's the second similar event sponsored by Novosoft. The first one was an inter-regional children's kendo tournament that took place last May.

The panel of judges was represented by delegation from Japan. The meeting of a top-management of Novosoft with the Japanese delegation took place the day after the tournament. Personal and business relations with Japanese guests were established during this meeting.

Novosoft took part at round table “Telecommunication industry in Siberia: Today and Tomorrow”.

The round table was hosted by the Administration of Deputy President for Siberian territory, Administration of Novosibirsk region, Novosibirsk City Administration, Novosibirsk region House of Representatives, Regional Association “Sibirskoe Soglashenie”, Association of Siberian and Far East cities. The event took place at an International exhibit center “Siberian Fair”.

The participants of the round table meeting discussed the current problems and prospects of the Siberian IT companies, opportunities related to government support of the industry, as well as the possibility of developing information networks for the government authorities.
A part of the event was a videoconference with a First Deputy Minister of Information Andrey Korotkov.
